JAMES T. WILSON FISHING PIER
James T. Wilson Fishing Pier, located just down from Buckroe Beach’s bay-front park, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the fishing season (typically April – December). The helpful pier staff is eager to share info about the fish that are biting and the best bait to use. With on-site parking, two covered shelters midway, two fish-cleaning stations, clean restrooms, snack bar, and bait and tackle shop, the well-lit James T. Wilson Fishing Pier has everything you will need for a fantastic day of fishing!
A license is not needed to fish the pier but if you have a current Virginia Saltwater Fishing License then you will receive $2 off adult admission. Children are encouraged to join in the fun, but youth ages 14 & under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Pier admission fees per 24-hour period from 6 a.m.-6 a.m. Ask about monthly & seasonal passes. Discounted rates for non-fishing & sightseeing are available. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted, nor are styrofoam coolers or glass items.
