Hampton Roads Philharmonic returns for its tenth season at the American Theatre, uniting musicians from all walks of life, brought together by a love of music. Active and retired military, music teachers, students, senior citizens, and more comprise the orchestra under the baton of music director and conductor Steven Brindle. The orchestra is proud to serve its community and continues to garner enthusiastic public acclaim. The Philharmonic’s first concert on October 16 will focus on themes of celebration, reflection, and excitement for the future. Additional shows include winter classics and holiday favorites on December 11. Next spring, the Philharmonic returns for the beloved Young Artist Competition performance on March 12, where soloists will perform their winning selections of concertos. The Philharmonic will also perform Debussy’s lush “Petite Suite” and revisit the first symphony ever performed by the orchestra over ten years ago: Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 1.”
