Artemis Splashdown Viewing Event

Come out to the Virginia Air & Space Center to celebrate the Artemis Splashdown and enjoy hands-on educational activities! Regular admission fees apply.

Schedule:

Artemis Launch showing on the planetarium: 12pm

Splashdown will be celebrated with the live feed from NASA: 12:30 pm

Artemis Speaker Darlene Pokora: 1 pm

Hands-on activities: 12pm to 2 pm

About the Speaker:

Ms. Darlene Pokora is the NASA Langley Space Technology and Exploration Associate Director and is on detail with NASA’s Commercial Crew program. She began her career with NASA at Langley Research Center in 1998, after having worked at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center since 1985. She has managed projects supporting the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, Space Launch System, International Space Station, and Commercial Crew Program. She ensures coordination of technology advancement, managing overlap and transition into human exploration, and works with commercial partners to develop agreements for infusion of technology into the commercial sector. Previously, Ms. Pokora also served as the Langley Orion Project Manager, leading the development of the Orion crew module at Langley and the impact testing done to prepare it for landing.
