“Slavery is American (and International) history, and that history remains gravely incomplete if we do not tell the truth about what happened on the Middle Passage,” according to Chadra Pittman, Founder and Executive Director of The Sankofa Projects. In this lecture, Pittman will highlight critical time periods in American history that have influenced our current political landscape, and shaped America’s cultural hegemony so that we can learn from these “inconvenient truths” that shaped our nation.
