The Barrett-Peake Heritage Foundation and the City of Hampton invite the public to the unveiling of two historic markers, at the historic headquarters of the 1908 Virginia Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs, 123 East Pembroke Avenue, Hampton, VA, 23669, on Sunday, May 20, 2018, 1:00 pm. The first marker to be unveiled is the city of Hampton Heritage Marker, featuring Mrs. Janie Porter Barrett, social reformer pioneer and Federation First President. The second marker is the State of Virginia highway marker, which honors the Virginia Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs.
