Grandview Nature Preserve
Grandview Nature Preserve forms the northeast corner of the city of Hampton. The Preserve covers over 475 acres of salt marsh, tidal creeks, and Chesapeake Bay beachfront. The Preserve is open to the public for free, but has limited parking along State Park Drive. The Preserve is a great location to beach comb, observe the migratory birds, and discover the wonders of wetlands. Canoeing & Hiking Programs at Grandview are done through Buckroe Beach Park. The Nature Preserve is open year round from sunrise to sunset daily.
DIRECTIONS
Entrance on State Park Dr. Just off Beach Road
From I-64 East: exit 263 toward Hampton Coliseum. Take left onto Foxhill Road. Follow to Beach Road and make a left. Follow to end and make a left onto State Park Drive. The Nature Preserve is straight ahead.
From Coliseum Central: Begin on W Mercury Blvd. Turn left onto Fox Hill Rd. After 3 miles, turn left onto beach rd. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto State Park Drive. The Nature Park is straight ahead.
From Downtown Hampton: Begin on Lincoln St. Turn left onto Eaton St. Turn right onto E Pembroke Ave. In 2 miles, take a slight right turn onto Old Buckroe Rd. Turn right onto Silver Isles Blvd. Turn left onto Beach Rd. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto State Park Dr. The Nature Park is straight ahead.
