Air Power Park

Visit this 15-acre outdoor park and see the air power that played a vital part in America’s early space exploration and aircraft testing. Conduct your own self-guided tour of the park displays featuring jets, missiles, and rockets. Many of the displays have connections with nearby Langley AFB and NASA Langley Research Center. Inside the geodesic dome there are indoor displays, a Children’s Room, as well as a conference room available to rent for meeting space or children’s birthday parties. The Children’s Room was designed with little space explorers and pilots in mind; Featuring a reading area, cork board wall for the little artists to post pictures, special reading material, and 3D art wall.

At Air Power Park you can also begin your scenic journey on Waterwalk Pathway, with quiet nature observation deck, or launch your paddle craft on the floating dock. Both provide views of Newmarket Creek, where wildlife abounds. Visitors may see herons, egrets, redwing blackbirds and various types of crabs! Also outside is a gated children’s playground.

Indoor display hours: Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
