The event, taking place at the Langley Officers Club on Langley Air Force Base from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m., will focus on this year’s theme of “Blacks in Hampton.”

On November 18 & 19, 2005 anglers from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region will return to downtown Hampton, Virginia for the Fourth Annual Get Hooked On Hampton Rockfish Tournament & Oyster Bash. Last year the Oyster Bash provided an outlet for anglers and their families to celebrate not only the end of the tournament, but also the unofficial start of Striper season.
Sandy Bottom Nature Park to Hold Second Annual Hampton Wildlife Festival October 21-23, 2005
On October 21-23, 2005 Hampton, Virginia’s very own Sandy Bottom Nature Park will host the second annual Hampton Wildlife Festival, helping to refocus the park’s overall mission of promoting environmental education and interpretation. The free festival, taking place 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. Friday October 21st, 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on Saturday October 22nd, and 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. on Sunday October 23rd, will feature pony rides and moonwalk (donations accepted), wild animal exhibits, live music, food vendors, and more.
Hampton CVB is among first to achieve national accreditation
The Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau has been honored with the designation of Accredited Destination Management Organization (ADMO) through the Institute for Convention and Visitors Bureau Accreditation (ICVBA), an organization dedicated to increasing professionalism among convention and visitor bureaus.
Hard hat tours of new convention center available every Monday
The new 344,000 square foot Hampton Roads Convention Center-85-percent complete and set to open spring 2005-is now open to the public every Monday at 4 pm for hard hat tours.
