Crawlin' Crab Half Marathon, 5K, Kids Kilometer & Shell Yeah Challenge (Oct. 5-7)Presented by Bon Secours In Motion. All Half Marathon runners "crawl" past the beautiful waterfront in downtown Hampton making their way down the historic Chesapeake Ave. and back to the Hampton Roads Convention Center for a crawlin' fun time at the post-race party. The Crawlin’ Crab 5K starts and finishes in front of the Hampton Roads Convention Center.  The Shell Yeah Challenge is for participants who wish to run both the 5k and half marathon. All runners are invited to a post-race party with live music, food and a craft brew festival.

13 | Phoebus Fall Festival

Phoebus Fall Festival celebrate a return to simpler times at the Phoebus Fall Festival. The event, taking place 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., will feature live music, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, a doggie costume parade, pie eating contest, children’s activities, and Lucky The Dinosaur! Returning this year is the Craft Beer Festival, taking place on Mellen Street. Eight craft beer vendors will be offering two selections a piece (16 beer tastings total) to festival attendees. Participating craft beer vendors include Midnight Brewing, Seven Arrows, Brass Cannon, Apocalypse Brew Works, Shiner, Wyndridge Farm Brewing, Sierra Nevada Brewing, and Chaos Mountain. Cost is $25 for 16 tastings or $5 full pour.

Just in time to blow off some political steam for the pending mid-term elections, the hilarious comedy troupe, the Capitol Steps, pulls out all the stops with its latest show, Orange is the New Barack. The bi-partisan humor features many cast members who have previously worked on Capitol Hill, bringing a laugh-out-loud perspective to the daily goings on at some of our most esteemed government offices. No matter who or what is in the headlines, audiences can bet the Capitol Steps will tackle both sides of the political spectrum and all things equally foolish. What more would you expect from the group that puts the “MOCK” in Democracy?

19 | An Evening with Groucho

Award-winning actor and director Frank Ferrante recreates his internationally acclaimed portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx in this fast-paced 90 minutes of hilarity. The two-act comedy consists of the best Groucho one-liners, anecdotes and songs including “Hooray for Captain Spalding,” and “Lydia, the Tattooed Lady.” Become part of the show as Ferrante ad-libs his way throughout the performance in grand Groucho style. Accompanied by his onstage pianist, Ferrante portrays the young Groucho of stage and film and reacquaints us with the likes of brothers Harpo, Chico, Zeppo and Gummo, Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields, Marx foil, Margaret Dumont and MGM’s Louis B. Mayer. A show perfect for all ages!

19 | Fort Monroe Ghost Walk (19-21)

Fort Monroe Ghost Walk (19-21)Come and discover where history meets mystery! Learn the hidden secrets of Fort Monroe’s rich 400-year history during our guided ghost walks. Tours begin every 20 minutes from 6:00 p.m. -9:30 p.m. and will last approximately 45 minutes. Tours are rain or shine. Please be advised that this is a walking tour and most of the areas of the tour are not handicapped accessible. This tour is not recommended for children under the age of 12. Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

19 | Phish

PhishPhish will perform a trio of consecutive concerts at Hampton Coliseum Friday, October 19, Saturday, October 20, and Sunday, October 21. All shows begin at 7:30 pm and doors open at 6 pm. Parking lots open at 2pm daily. Known by Phish fans as The Mothership, Hampton Coliseum has a notable role in the band's history. The five-CD "Hampton Comes Alive" was recorded in the venue and released in 1999. What is more, a decade later Phish launched its reunion concerts on March 6, 7, and 8, 2009 in the venue, following a five-year touring break. This will be the 10th time Phish has performed at Hampton Coliseum.

22 | Hampton Horror Tours (22-26)

These 60-minute tours include eerie tales of Old Hampton and the Coastal Virginia area. The tour will encounter actors portraying the first witch recorded in America, ghosts of Civil War soldiers, pirates from Blackbeard's Crew, a speakeasy proprietor, escaped prisoners, yellow fever victims, and more characters from the city's tales of mystery and the macabre. Each tour will include the grisly side of Hampton history; special surprises and a spooky lantern tour of the St. John's Church graveyard, and other points of fright along Queen Street and around downtown Hampton.

Most superfans recognize Lynda Carter as the original “Wonder Woman,” from the hit 1970s TV series, but the Miss World USA winner has been singing from the age of five and has performed globally from London’s Palladium to Monte Carlo. Carter’s latest album, Red Rock N’ Blues, features re-imagined arrangements of timeless hits such as The Supremes’ “Stop! In the Name of Love” and The Everly Brothers’ “All I Have to Do Is Dream.” Far more than an accomplished singer, she was also honored earlier this year with a coveted star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. An evening with Lynda Carter will truly be an evening with Wonder Woman — filled with song and stories from a celebrated cultural icon.
